I don't use MySQL replication (yet), so I'm sorry I can't tell you the
answer to that one.  It might be best to ask it in the relevant MySQL
email list or forum.

The change in Nagios 3.1.2 sounds promising (thank you Andreas for
mentioning it as I hadn't appreciated it would address startup times
as well as runtime performance).  I confess I haven't tried it yet -
I'm still on 3.0.6 myself - looking forward hopefully to upgrading to
3.1.2 sooner rather than later.
