It doesn't send it for hosts either. What format should the data be when
fed into nsca for performance-data to register too? I couldn't quite find
that in the brief scan of the send_nsca documentation I did.

That's sort of what I'm thinking too. I'll look into fiddling with it
some more this weekend.
