Passive host checks problem

Hi,

ok, after a little experimentation, I found the trick to get the passive
host checks to work. For some reason Nagios needed to see a change of
state for the host - from UP to DOWN or UNREACHABLE - and after that, it
misteriously started working. I'm speculating it has to do with state
retention. Any ideas?

Anyways... hope this might give a heads-up to some of you folks who are
setting up distributed monitoring.
