NS_Client and event logs

don't think it's running, check it. yes it should show up in ps.
check starting nsca manually.
check all paths in nsca startup script (in /etc/init.d ?)
check nsca.cfg for allowed clients , make sure passwords are same as on 
windows boxes.
check any distro-specific stuff :
i know that on SuSE, with a "default" suse rpm install,  the init.d/nsca is 
broken (wrong paths), i made a "SuSE-fied" init script that behaves as one 
would expect on SuSE;
i'm running nagevelog fine on w2k, w2k3
