Event Handler Problem in Nagios 2.0b2

Hi,
I just up-graded our Nagios Monitoring system from 1.2 to 2.0b2. After the Upgrade the Event-Handler has stopped working. I can see the entry in the Log File, which says that the Event Handler script was executed. But in reality the script is never executed.
I created a simple Perl Test Scrip to be executed by the event-handler, which will write some text in a file. The script works from the command line. As far as I can tell, Nagios never even tries to execute the script though the log files says the opposite.
Has anyone seen a similar problem ? Has anything changed in 2.0 that requires to define some special entry for Event handlers ?
