Loggin Failure: "logged as ?"

Thank you for helping me Jason Martin and Marc,

The .htaccess is mispelled just here. The file and configs are ok.

Marc, as you saw, all configs are ok. I did some other tests and found out 
some interesting things:

If I enable authentication and let default_user=guest, then Nagios 
(apache) asks for the login/password. But, it's obvious, the logged user 
will always be "guest".

So, till now, everything is ok:
1 - The authentication occurs
2 - Nagios identify the user

Next, I commented the default_user line. That is what most people do. If I 
do that, Nagios interface apperas without asking for login!! (I restarted 
the browser and all that stuff. It's not cache, please).

The message that appears is: " Logged as ?"

Well, pretty strange! I hope it's not a bug.

I dunno if it helps, but I am using Debian and I have installed nagios 
with apt-get. Nagios-1.2.
