What is the error you are getting from the configure script? That should
point to the specific library you are having problems with.

Another suggestion would be to use "apt-get source" to get the deb package
source files for the newer Nagios in unstable and back-port the package
yourself. If you need more help with building the deb package feel free to
contact me off-list.
