serivce event handler problem

Hi all.

I appreciate if someone can help with my problem.

I've got Nagios 1.1 installed and configured to run host and service
event handler.
 Event handler works just fine until I restart the core Nagios process.
 I've set
"log_event_handlers=1" and observed the log carefully and verified that
service event handler is not called after I restart the Nagios process.

I also use state retention, so I compared the status.log before and
after I restart
the Nagios process. I found that "Event handler enabled" field is
reverted from
1 to 0, and "Accept Passive Checks" from 0 to 1.
