question of lock file..

hi all
i installed nagios 1.0b6 version,and configure it..when i start nagios...it reports :No lock file found in /usr/local/nagios/var/nagios.lock
i type /usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios -v ,it shows these debugs:
Nagios 1.0b6
