I do it the "easy" way. I have Nagios send an email to my mobile carrier's
email-to-SMS address. An AT&T you put your *10-digit wireless phone number*,
followed by*@txt.att.net. *For example: 5551234567 at txt.att.net.

Just find the email to sms alias for your mobile provider and have Nagios
email you.
