Configuration issue

Hi

I have a question regarding the configuration of services and service
dependencies.

If I configure a service-check, and I specify a number of host-groups
instead of a list of hosts - and I then try to make service dependencies on
this service on each of the hosts included in the host-groups - then Nagios
states, that it cannot find a matching service name for the specified host
??

I thought, that by specifying the hostgroups would make Nagios derive the
list of hosts from the hostgroups - and thereby making it possible for me to
make service dependencies on each host in the hostgroup.

Is it a bug - or is it simply not possible ??

Example

I have 5 hosts: host-a, host-b, host-c, host-d and host-e

I create 2 hostgroups, hostgrp-1 (with host-a and host-b), and hostgrp2
(with host-d and host-e)

In my e.g. PING service check, I specify hostgroups hostgrp-1, hostgrp-2

I also define another service - could e.g. be check_http - also with
hostgroups hostgrp-1 and hostgrp-2 as targets

Now, If I try to make a service dependency, and I specify host-a as host and
dependant host - and then specify PING as service, and check_http as
dependat service - then I'm told, that PING isn't listed as a service for
host-a

I'm currently running Nagios Core 3.2.0

Regards

Brian
