Interesting... I'm not at all familiar with the FreeBSD package system
but the error above indicates to me that you've installed a version of
nagios that's not compatible with your system (i.e. 64bit nagios on
32bit system or linux version of nagios with no linux binary support
on your system). Is that possible? What is the output of the following
--

uname -a
file /usr/local/bin/nagios
ldd /usr/local/bin/nagios

Maybe the FreeBSD users here will have other suggestions...

I actually gave that a thought after I posted, upon which I realized that I
installed it from the all Tree of the packages instead of focusing in on the
sparc64 tree. Lo and behold I found 3.0.3 in the sparc64 tree, and seem to
be making a bit more head way, I can get it to run the pre flight checks,
abit with errors that I think I can sort out. Most of it just seems like
localhost.cfg errors.

Although I was getting some duplicate definition errors for nagiosadmin,

I'll see what I can do thou.

Thanks for all the help, I really do appreciate it.

Cheers,

Gary
