That's interesting. AFAIK servicegroups has nothing to do with the
monitoring itself, just as a viewing group for the cgis.
In your ps output I saw some nagios processes, but no running cgi
executions...

3600 Items in a CGI related view has a long runtime but on that you
should the you webserver into causing high CPU Usage and all the other
'bad stuff'.

Maybe you can give it a try, rebuild your servicegroup, restart nagios
but stop the webserver, so noone can view your group. Load normal or high?
