be an alternative ? SNMP might be easier to get going than IPMI.

There was a post to the list concerning IPMI a while back, so I put
together this list of useful (IMHO) links for future reference.
Haven't looked at it since unfortunately. Specific to a Dell PERC you
might want to check out the first link. As an observation, there are
quite a few IPMI plugins on nagiosexchange.org
