Can a remote client send a file to Nagios or vice versa?

I know Nagios is not built for sending files. Just thinking if its capablities
can be extended :p

Thought of syslogs, but I also want to send other types of file (e.g. binary).

As for using putty or friends, i think security is of concern here.
