Nagios 3 GUI config tools

Here I would have to agree.  I use the GUI a LOT to do my basic
configuration and speed things along but you need to understand the
files and how they interact to get the most bang for your buck.  I'm
writing some simple plugins to alert us on issues with our evironmentals
now that the new CRAC units, etc that we purchased are now SNMP
manageable.  There's not a lot out there so taking a simple "noc
operator's" stance to configuring Nagios isn't sufficient.

Sacrilege! ;-)

Unix Config + revision control rule.

Also, it'll hinder you getting very far if you can't handle the config 
of Nagios. The real power comes in the plugins and the customization for

which you're better off knowing how to actually configure Nagios.
