remote host up but can not see services

Hi

   I have just confirmed, and there is no firewall running on the machine.

	We are trying to simply monitor the pop3 and SMTP service that it is running as this is a mail server.

is there a firewall running on the windows machine? What kind of services do 
you want to monitor? Are the services running? Do the services need some 
special authentification (SNMP?)?
