is there a nicer way?

Agreed - I can easily add a host to all associated services through my
hostgroup. For example, I have a hostgroup setup for linux systems. All
the service checks for CPU, Disk, etc use the configuration element:

hostgroup_name	linux

So when I add a new host, I add the hosts.cfg element, then add the
hostname to my linux hostgroups and voila! All services are now
monitored on the new host.

I think this is a good case for hostgroups.

Just put a hostgroup in the services that you want, then when you add a
host, add it to the hostgroup, that way it will get all the service
checks.
