NRPE times out after 10 seconds

All,
I checked the timeout parameters and these are the only one I have:
nagios.cfg:# TIMEOUT VALUES
nagios.cfg:service_check_timeout=60
nagios.cfg:host_check_timeout=30
nagios.cfg:event_handler_timeout=30
nagios.cfg:notification_timeout=30
nagios.cfg:ocsp_timeout=5
nagios.cfg:perfdata_timeout=5

Any suggestions?

BTW, I am using 2.9 as the base and the plugin is 1.3.6.1

Sounds like you didn't also increase the fail-safe service check timeout
parameter in nagios.cfg. I believe that the default is 10 seconds.
