Availability CGI - problem with custom report period

I'm having an issue with the avail.cgi on 2.6

If I set up a custom start and end date, unless the end date includes
today or 2 days before today, no status log information is included in
the report. If I run a 31 day report, year, etc Anything that would
include today or today-2 works. Otherwise I get nothing returned in
the host logs section and get a skewed report (all unknown or up/ok if I
tell it to assume that).
