problems nagios

Hi!!

i have a problem, i do apt-get remove --purge mailx, when i execute that 
command my packet nagios-mysql was removed.  I dont know why, but when i do 
apt-get install nagios-mysql

i have an error

DBI connect('dbname=','',...) failed: Access denied for user 
'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO) at 
/usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_nagios_db line 71

And when execute that command /etc/init.d/nagios restart

Anybody help me!!!!
