Hi There,

I have a clean installation made of nagios 2.2.
In my
/usr/local/nagios/var/
there are 2 directories, archives and rw.

I have copied the netsaint-*.log files over to
/usr/local/nagios/var/archives/ in the nagios-*.log
format. When I run /etc/init.d/nagios start the
folowing files are created.

comments.dat
downtime.dat
nagios.lock
nagios.log
objects.cache
retention.dat
status.dat

>From the Web GUI, everything is in pending status and
the duration states something like 0h0m23s

Which variable am I missing which get nagios to take
the nagios-*.log files into consideration when
creating status.dat?

It should report(in the duration field) that these
machines have been up for years.

I think the correct access has been applied to the log
files because from the "Event Log" page, I can browse
the previous log archives.

Thanks again,
Cormac
