[newbie] nrpe security

Hello,
I would know if there's a way to provide authentication in
nrpe without resorting to tunnels. As far as I know, nrpe supports
strong
encryption but no authentication (not even in a weak sense, e.g.
a private key hard-coded in the client and the coupled public key in
the server).

Thank you,
Giovanni
