Missing hosts.cfg, hostsgroups.cfg, timperiods.cfg....

First let me beg forgiveness - I am not a linux admin, I barely can navagate
my way around linux.

I have successfully installed nagios 2.2 and apache web server. I have the
app running and get to a web page via http://mymachinename/nagios and have
access the the CGI's and I am monitoring localhost. I believe I'm doing
this using my minimal.cfg file that is active from nagios.cfg I see all my
other .cfg files commented out in nagios.cfg, but the sample .cfg's for
hosts and hostsgroups and some others aren't anywhere?

I searched find / -name hosts* And looked in /usr/local/nagios/etc Anyway,
thought i might have missed something so i tried installing again with
./configure, make all, make install, make install-init, make
install-commandmode, make install-config

The make install-config loads the samples I believe and none of the hosts
samples are there. Can anyone help me out here?
