defining a hostgroup

Hello,

I currently setup hostgroups.cfg in which I have the following:

define hostgroup{
hostgroup_name linux
alias Linux
}

When I run the -v test to see if everything is alright before turning on 
Nagios, it throws the following error:

Invalid object definition of type 'hostgroup'. Any idea what I may be 
doing wrong?
