I was infact brainstorming on a similar thing albeit more centered around perfparse.
 
As for reporting from DB's ... aside from http://reportman.sourceforge.net <http://reportman.sourceforge.net/>  I have yet to find a decent tool capable of mining MySQL. Anyone got any suggestions ?
