big performance issue with Nagios 2.5

my checks split up like this:

700 * "check_nt" 
280 * "check_ping"
170 * checks against Netapp Filer (Perl and C)
160 * self written checks against IBM RSA Cards
120 * check_snmp_int.pl
  80 * check_esx2.pl
  20 * checks against brocade switches (C)
