You would also need a script on the central Nagios server do a similar
function, consolidating each distributed server's configs.  You can
transport the configurations to the central server any number of ways, I'd
recommend SSH/SCP.  The central Nagios will silently discard any host or
service data it receives for which it does not have configuration
information, so you should try to synchronize the timing of these config
refreshes.
