notification issues

Hi,

I monitor arround 500 services via NRPE2.  Up to now, nevermind what I do, 
Nagios sends a notification everytime NRPE's OUTPUT changes, and not when 
then STATE changes....

Can anyone please give me some pointers as to what could be causing this????
