Mapping "Author" to auth name in CGI commands?

I'm properly logged in as my username.. I don't have a default user 
specified, so it's not that causing the issue.  I also had the same 
issue historically under 1.x also.  I'm guessing it's a peculiarity of 
my config, but it seems to me like it would more likely be determined in 
the cgi's themselves than in the config files.
