Yes. I believe you should be able to do something like this by adding 
code to statusmap.c that forces it to travel the linked list for all 
hosts drawn on the map.

You wan't the man-pages in sections 2 and 3 (mostly those in 3), a 
couple of good books on programming and a few hundred hours of practicing.
