Subject: [Nagios-users] Problems in starting nagios 1.2

Hi *,

I'm having problems in launching nagios1.2. Have a look:

# /etc/init.d/nagios start

Starting network monitor: nagios
NAGIOS CRITICAL - could not find status log: /var/log/nagios/status.log

# ls -l /var/log/nagios

total 36
drwxr-xr-x 2 nagios nagios 4096 Apr 10 19:24 archives
-rw-r--r-- 1 nagios nagios 26397 May 26 10:37 nagios.log
drwxr-sr-x 2 nagios apache 4096 Apr 10 19:24 rw
-rw-r--r-- 1 nagios nagios 0 May 26 10:37 status.sav

# vi /var/log/nagios/nagios.log

I looked in the www.nagios.org F.A.Q., but I didn't find an error like that. The closer one was a problem when /var/spool/nagios/nagios.cmd existed. But this is not the case.

Any ideas?

Cheers,
