Service notification command - help

Using Nagios 2.0b3... my service notification command does not work. I am
using the following command:

/usr/bin/printf "$OUTPUT$" | /bin/mail -s '$SERVICESTATE$ alert for
$HOSTALIAS$/$SERVICEDESC$' $CONTACTEMAIL$

Everything works, except when I get the e-mail, there is no additional
information in the body of the e-mail (ie I am missing the contents of
$OUTPUT - the info on latency or packet loss when a check_ping goes critical
or warning, for example)

Anybody have any ideas? I assume this is a simple problem but I just can't
seem to get it to work.

Paul
