Big Brother -> Nagios daemon

I have now a working daemon, written in C for UNIX, that will accept Big
Brother alerts on port 1984 and convert these to Nagios commands which it
places into the Nagios queue. We are successfully running this here on our
system for both NT and Unix BB agents; however there are doubtless some
problems, not least in date parsing and the overly-general format of a BB
alert.

I know there is an existing daemon to do this written in Perl; however, as
it is not xinetd based and requires Perl it is single-threaded and cannot
cope with a very high number of messages. The C version is hooked in via
xinetd, which allows throttling and multi-threading.

If anyone would like to try this on their system, please contact me via
email. It makes migration from BB to Nagios much easier, and is working OK
here

Steve
