check_jabber plugin help

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has successfully used the 'check_jabber'
plugin in v1.4.

>From my nagios box command line I type:
./check_jabber -H myhost.whatever -p 5269

And the plugin returns the following error:
CRITICAL - Cannot make  SSL connection 8986:error:140770FC:SSL
routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:unknown protocol:s23_clnt.c:478:

I know check_jabber uses check_tcp.  And check_tcp can check the
jabber server port just fine.  For example at the command line:
./check_tcp -H myhost.whatever -p 5269

This command returns the following:
TCP OK - 0.004 second response time on port 5269
|time=0.004285s;0.000000;0.000000;0.000000;10.000000

So I can get check_tcp to work fine on the jabber server port, but I
can't get check_jabber to work on that port.  I would like to use the
check_jabber plugin, because I'm sure it returns something cool like
"Jabber server is responding.." or something like that.

Any advice from anyone who has check_jabber working??
