host downtime and service notifications

Right. But neither the first, second or any other sentence in the related
documentation reads "when a host is scheduled for downtime, notifications
for all services on that host are suppressed".  apparently you
misunderstood what i was asking.

The third sentence of the related documentation reads:

"When a host a service is in a period of scheduled downtime, notifications
for that host or service will be suppressed."
