Reading status for Nagios

Don't know anything about Asterisk, but it sounds like this might be
better handled through the use of eventhandlers in Nagios.  I assume
there's some type of commandline routine you can run that changes the
routing in Asterisk -- just turn that into an eventhandler and you're
done.
