Nagios v2.0b3
Fedora Core 3

Hi. I've just installed NAGIOS on a Fedora box with all of the defaults. I've configured my hosts.cfg, etc. files, downloaded and installed plugins to $NAGIOSHOME/libexec, and I'm ready to start the program. When I verify my configuration, I get this:

############################################################
[root at NAGIOS ~]# /usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios -v /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cf g

Yet, when I go to run the program as a foreground process, I get this message:

############################################################
[root at NAGIOS ~]# /usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg

Nagios 2.0b3 starting... (PID=13926)
Bailing out due to one or more errors encountered in the configuration files. R un Nagios from the command line with the -v option to verify your config before restarting. (PID=13926)
############################################################

I'm not exactly sure why. When I try to run it as a daemon, it seems to start, but i cant see it with "ps -ef|grep nagios". Same deal if I try to start it from the 'init.d' directory.

Thanks for your help,

Ryan
