nagios startup error

Hi,

I had installed Nagios-1.2 version - had no problem with the installation
. everything went smooth.

But on starting nagios as
#nagios -d -v /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg , I get the following error
displayed.

#./nagios -d -v ../etc/nagios.cfg

Please advice - how to solve this.
