An email on acknowledge, and only on acknowledge? Nagios and RT

I am looking to interface Nagios alerts into Request Tracker, a
ticketing system with an email interface.

 

I am thinking that every time there's an acknowledgement, if that could
send an email to RT and only in that instance, it would be excellent to
open up a ticket regarding it.

 

Can anyone think of a way to do this short of editing the c code?

 

Aside from that, a more complex setup involving tickets at critical, and
closing on ok might work. Any ideas?
