Increase check_tcp timeout value?

Just use the -t <timeout in secs> parameter in your command definition. 
For instance:
define  command {
        command_name    check_tcp_30s
        command_line    $USER1$/check_tcp -H $HOSTADDRESS$ -t 30 -p $ARG1$
        }
