monitoring network interfaces

Hi,

I'm having trouble with event_handlers getting triggered. It seems
exactly like the problem reported here:

https://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=9220815

My service config uses check_ping and a simple event_handler. But the
event_handler never gets called. I tried adding a host event_handler to
the host definition, but that never gets called either.

Is this a known bug? or is there likely something wrong with my config?

What I want to do is to monitor a network interface on the local
machine. After a critical failure I want to trigger an event hander to
take the cluster node offline and transfer the IP to another machine.

Thanks in advance, Aaron
