output check_mrtg / check_mrtgtraf

dear list!

i tried to implement the check_mrtg/mrtgraf-plugins. but i'm curious about the 
ouputs. there is no return-code:

./check_mrtg -F file.log -a MAX -v 1 -w 100 -c 200
->Max.  = 151013

./check_mrtgtraf -F file.log -a MAX -w "100,120" -c "200,220"
-> *nothing*

am i using them in the wrong way?

version: 
nagios-1.2-0.rhel3.dag
nagios-plugins-1.3.1-1
