Fedora Core 3, Nagios, everything working except for check_nrpe

I have built Nagios on Fedora Core 3 from source. Set it up, and it's
working aside from the fact that check_nrpe returns

CHECK_NRPE: Error - Could not complete SSL handshake.

Every other check works. I have nagios running fine on fc1 on another
machine, and check_nrpe returns correctly

NRPE v2.0

When I installed the plugins, I used fc1's dag package, and it worked
fine, aside from there was no check_nrpe. I grabbed the check_nrpe from
the working machine, and that is what I've been using, with it failing.

I'm going to look to compile the plugins from source to avoid any
oddities that may be caused with FC3, but everything else seems to work
aside from check_nrpe, which didn't even come as the package. I had to
copy that over.

I've looked at the Nagios Faq, and cannot find anything that addresses
the issues I'm having, aside from the version being too new, but it
works perfectly fine on the original nagios box.

Openssl is installed on the new box.

Any ideas?
