Not an error as such, but I am confused.

I have everything setup as it should, or so I think, but disabling 
checking on hosts "appears" to work and it shows up in the logs BUT 
neither the tactical overview nor any of the other other displays 
available on the web interface say that checking has been disabled .... 
so how do I know it has been done ? have I missed something in the 
installation and/or configuration ?
