cannot open nagios.log & Error: Could not read host and service status information!

Hey guys,
I've encountered a problem and couldn't find any
answer in the archives.

I had my Nagios running well, but 
now after verifying with no error and warning, 
I have this error:

Warning: Cannot open log file
'/usr/local/nagios/var/nagios.log' for writing

and in the web interface:

Error: Could not read host and service status
information!
