Maximum in hostgroup?

Is there a maximum number of hosts that can be in one group?  I addedd all the switches (a few hundred probably) and nagios config errors out saying:

Error: Could not add object property in file '/usr/local/nagios/etc/hostgroups.cfg' on line 134.

It doesn't say what is causing it to error.  I even added the hosts through Nagat which pulls directly from the hosts.cfg file and still it won't accept them.
