Host down 2 days -- only 1 notifcation

We had a system go down on Saturday, at which point Nagios sent 1 
notification.  No further notifications were sent out.  This is contrary to 
our configuration:

define host {
    name                            mail-host-template
    check_command                   check-host-alive
    max_check_attempts              2
    notification_interval           30
    notification_period             24x7
    notification_options            d,u
    register                        0
}

define host {
    use         mail-host-template
    host_name   webmail4
    alias       webmail4
    parents     smr-h-3548
    address     webmail4.stanford.edu
}

Any ideas on why only 1 alert was sent out? (It was down for 2 days)
