How to compile nrpe with static linking on Solaris?

The subject says it all.

I've managed to work around a problem I was having running nrpe (and
check_nrpe) with SSL enabled, by running the "crle" command to include
SSL's libraries in the system-global default library path. However, I
don't want to have to modify the runtime link environment, nor install
the SSL libraries, on every host I want to monitor. It's an ok
workaround for testing and development, but an unacceptable solution
for the general case.

So, how do I compile nrpe (and check_nrpe) with static linking on
Solaris? Specifically, what options do I need to feed to "./configure"
and/or "make", in order for all required libraries to be included?

Thanks,
Michael
