Alerting and graphing load

Hi all,
	I'm using the apan expansion to graph load averages coming off of some of our UNIX systems. Unfortunately, it seems that APAN always, always returns a good code, so there's no way for Nagios to know if it's in a warning or critical state. Is there some way to change this behavior?
